Flag Day Celebration

June 14, 2026 | Weir Farm National Historical Park, Wilton, Connecticut
It was a pleasure to spend Flag Day painting en plein air as a demonstration artist at Weir Farm National Historical Park, the former home of Julian Alden Weir, one of America’s distinguished Impressionist painters.
The historic home and surrounding landscape continue to inspire generations of painters and artists. To work outdoors in such a setting where artistic tradition and the natural landscape are so closely intertwined was a particularly meaningful experience.
Throughout the day, the atmosphere was further enriched by the music of a talented guitarist and vocalist. As I painted, the beautiful music carried through the landscape, creating a memorable accompaniment to the creative process.
It was an absolutely lovely day of painting, music, and inspiration in a place with such a remarkable artistic legacy.
